Thank you for your interest in DMQ Review. We are extremely proud of our 27 YEAR history as one of the longest continuously running online journals in the nation. It has been our privilege to publish the work of both established and emerging poets and to do so without submission or subscription fees, featuring award-winning poetry with art since 1998. We welcome and encourage American and international voices from all cultural identities in the English language.

Our current focus is the prose poem. Submissions will open April 1, 2025.

The DMQ Virtual Salon launched in July 2020 featuring three poets reading from their new books. Please contact Editors at dmqreview@gmail.com if you have a new or forthcoming indie press poetry book and would like to participate in this ongoing event. We feature new full length books within their first twelve months of publication.

Check out our About page for more detail and for how to subscribe, free, for new issue releases and updates. We hope you will. Reading DMQ Review is the best way to know what we like. Thanks for reading with us.

The Editors
DMQ Review

Please include up to THREE unpublished PROSE POEMS in one document, one poem per page, each poem no more than 500 words. Reading our current prose poem issue and this from the Ether column is a great way to determine if your work might be right for us AND for knowing how we consider a prose poem as different from other short forms--flash fiction and lyric/brief memoir.

We recommended former US Poet Laureate Rita Dove's prose poem, "Prose in a Small Space" as both exemplar and informational to the prose poetry sensibility. Better still, we offer seven past Prose Poem issues in our DMQ Review Archives for examples of what we do publish here.

ALSO: We are looking for the work of humans only.

Submissions are open April 1, 2025 until midnight May 31, 2025 PDT, or sooner at our discretion.

Submit your best work early. DMQ Review reserves the right to close submissions when our capacity is reached. This will be announced on our Facebook page. Follow us there.

Thanks for thinking of DMQ Review and entrusting us with your work. We look forward to reading it!
